Annual Achievement Award Eligibility & Selection Criteria About the Award The Claude J. Lamar Annual Achievement Award was established in 2006 to honor hard working NARFE members who do volunteer work within NARFE and also do volunteer work in the community, outside of NARFE. The award was named in Claude J. Lamar’s honor for many reasons. To know Claude was to know a highly knowledgeable, high performance professional, one wise in the heritage of NARFE and grounded in the rock-solid accomplishments of making an impact in his community. His career success working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), dedicated service to NARFE and volunteer achievements presented a rich legacy; a legacy that merits passing on from one generation to the next. Claude J. Lamar passed away in 2006. His loving memory will continue to be recognized through this annual award Chapter 1405 is implementing in his honor. Selection Criteria The Claude J. Lamar Annual Achievement Award recognizes individuals who:
All nominations will be reviewed by an appointed Selection Committee chaired by Mrs. Dolly Lamar, widow of Claude J. Lamar. The final award winner decision will be made by the Selection Committee and not the Board of Directors. Nomination Application Anyone may nominate any person who is eligible for the Claude J. Lamar Annual Achievement Award. Membership of the nominator or the nominee in NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) Association is required.
