Dues Withholding Contest

JUNE 1, 2008 – APRIL 30, 2009

Rules

Start Date – June 1, 2008

Closing Date – April 30, 2009 (MUST be in the hands of the Dues Withholding Chair).

Prizes –

Federation-wide - First Prize, $200, 2^nd & 3^rd prizes, $50 each.

Districts - Each District that has 5 or more Dues Withholding Applications will be awarded: First Prize $50, 2^nd & 3^rd prizes, $25 each.

Drawings –

District winners will be drawn at the 2009 Florida Convention’s District Caucuses. 

Federation-wide winners will be drawn at the Dues Withholding Contest Awards ceremony at the 2009 Florida Federation Convention. 

·         You do not need to be present at the convention to win.

·         Members who win a District prize also are eligible to win a Federation prize.  

·         Prize money will be awarded to the member, not the Chapter or District. 

Application process - Complete a NARFE Dues Withholding application, put it in a sealed envelope, address and mail the envelope to:           

In the upper left hand corner return address space, list your name, Chapter number, NARFE membership number, and address.  Example:

To enhance security, all applications received will be logged and forwarded to NARFE Membership without opening them if the necessary identifying information is posted in the return address.

If the necessary identifying information is not posted on the return address, the envelope will be opened for identification purposes for the contest.

Notes

     A Dues Withholding form may be sent to NARFE’s National Office at any time. NARFE’s National Office forwards all forms it receives to OPM when the time is right to convert the member from Annual Dues to Dues Withholding.  However, if you want to enter the Dues Withholding Contest, you must send your application to the Dues Withholding Contest Chair.

     NARFE benefits from members that are on dues withholding in three ways, first, membership dues are discounted, second, membership retention is greatly enhanced, and third, the cost of mailing the renewal notice and second notice is eliminated, therefore saving NARFE a great amount of money each year, money that can be used to support NARFE’s mission.
